Your hands are shaking, your heart is pounding so hard it feels like it’s going to burst through your chest, there is knots in your stomach and you just want some sort of relief. You want to run as far as you can and yet you can’t move your legs. Sitting there with your body feeling so weak, the temperature rising, the room keeps spinning and even your hearing gets sensitive. Sometimes the only way out of it is to sit in silence, replaying your thoughts and crying until exhaustion. You are worn out, wanting to sleep the days away until the day you know when you wake up it will all be over with.
I know that feeling oh so well and I know many of you have been through it or are going through it. I wish I had a magic word to wash all the pain away. The sad part is that many will tell you “Just move on!” Or “Ok, feel better already!” Those who haven’t felt this feeling before will only want to push you to “be normal” but we know that it isn’t that easy. It doesn’t matter if someone broke your heart, a loved one passed or you were just simply betrayed. Life has a way of turning things upside down and inside out that your left with something completely different. You ask yourself “How did I get here?” “When will it all be over?” “Will I ever feel normal again?”. The answer will always be YES! you will feel normal again, YES! it will be over soon. As to HOW you got to the place you are at, THAT DOESN’T MATTER ANYMORE. What matters is that you know that you don’t want to be there anymore and you know the only way out is one foot in front of the other. Just because we feel weak or have weak moments DOESN’T MAKE US WEAK. To recognize our weakness only shows the world we are stronger than them because we can be honest about ourselves.
What I can tell you is that the saying “only time can truly heal” is so cliche but very true. Time, self love, self care, self awareness and small goals. Even if the time seems like it takes forever just know the day will come when you wake up “feeling normal”, love yourself by taking care of yourself in any way you can think of, like working out or watching your favorite movies. Having self awareness means to know who you are and your worth and you can conquer it all even in the midst of the storm your in. Set small goals, like running a mile or walking 10 more minutes anything small and easily attainable.
Close your eyes, take a deep breath and tell yourself THIS WILL NOT CONSUME ME, IT HURTS BUT I AM BIGGER THAN THIS, I WILL MAKE THE BEST OF TODAY AND TOMORROW IS TOMORROW…
All in all LOVE YOURSELF, YOU ARE WORTH IT, YOU ARE ENOUGH, YOU ARE STRONG, NO ONE IN THIS WORLD CAN MAKE YOU HAPPY EXCEPT YOURSELF. This TOO SHALL PASS. Hugs from me to you. ♥️
