Mentally Unraveled

For 9 months I carried you inside of me. I felt every movement you made. The daily ups and downs of my emotions were draining. I couldn’t keep anything down even if we were both really hungry. I could see my belly grow one stretch mark after another and gaining pound per pound. You got stronger with every day that passed. I daydreamed of what you would look like. Wondering what type of personality you would have. When the day finally came, every minute I felt meant you were almost in my arms.

I finally get to see you after pushing for hours and my body exhausted, I finally get to hold you. I examine you, counting 10 toes and 10 fingers. I smell your head and cradle you against my skin. I never knew what ANY type of Love was until I saw you. In that moment I went from a teenager to an adult. At that moment I knew I was going to be a Lioness protecting her cub. No one would ever hurt you or make you feel less than without having to deal with me first.

You were my first born and you paved my path of motherhood. I had your sisters and felt the exact SAME way but only more mature and ready. The unconditional love we have as mother and child, no one could ever replace.

Anyone can give birth but ONLY a real woman can be a MOM. It doesn’t matter if they grew in your belly or you were given a child to help raise. Being a mom is not only the hardest thing you will ever do but will also be the most rewarding one. Every headache, every tear, every time your DONE, just remember you are molding a person that one day you have to send out to society. Remember you brought them into this world and they didn’t ask to be here.

Your best is ALWAYS the best. The frustration is only temporary. The disappointments will be scattered but as they grow the pride They will give you is worth it all.

Know that the only way to take care of those little humans is to take care of yourself.
