As the sun rises, sitting at the dining room table, your home filled with silence. The silence of everyone still sleeping. Your children dreaming of the days to come, of their utmost desires. You take that first sip of coffee, the first one that always warms up your body. Reminiscing of every word you said and every action you took the days prior. Your thoughts are like a revolving door, never ending. Wondering if anything you do is good enough, if anything you say inspires them. You wonder if on your bad days your children can see right through you or do they see you in a light of unconditional love. You sit there going over every moment hoping that your doing a better job than your parents did.
But, YOU know your mind wanders daily, struggling between emotions. You force yourself to have a good day or even a good hour. The moments where you fight to balance the past pain and the future’s hope. Hoping that the future wins.
“Am I doing a good job?” The question that lingers daily. Longing for a future where your children grow up to be free, free from their minds. To never feel the entrapment of emotions you struggle with every day. That they grow up so confident and truly joyful at heart. That they never encounter what it feels like to have a life sentence. A life sentence to an imprisoned mind.
We all had different childhoods, some worse than the others. Some of us continue the cycle that our parents spun us in because we were so use to it. Some of us broke the cycle because at some point we had to face our own demons and tell ourselves we don’t want to repeat the same mistakes.
If you know your struggles BUT get up everyday to put your kids before yourself, YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB! If despite all that pain you face daily you still get up and put your kids before yourself, YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB! Because some parents choose their selfish needs, the BAD ones, over their kids because it is “easier” to numb the pain or to “erase” the past, leaving a child to raise themselves. REGARDLESS, here you are, that even on your bad days, even on days you fall you still get up and put your kids before you. YOU BROKE THE CYCLE! Regardless of the days you fight the emotions on the inside, your kids see the good days with you, they see your smile and will always remember your unconditional love not only to them BUT to YOURSELF!
YOU ARE LOVED, YOU ARE ENOUGH, YOU ARE WORTHY!♥️🌹💋
