Mentally Unraveled

With every tune that you hum, you hear them in between the lyrics. With every painting you admire, you see them in between the brush strokes. Between the sunrise and the sunset, you are reminded of the warmth your bodies created. Between the moon and the stars, you are reminded of the words exchanged until dawn. Left feeling powerless from their love. Their presence lingering like a ghost, haunting you with memories of them. Those memories of where no one, not even time existed. They sculpted your mind to see them in this light of admiration. Blissfully orchestrated a future together.

But, everything fell apart.

Lump in your throat, holding back the tears. Trying to breathe through the pain. They let you fade away without hesitation. Leaving you sitting in sorrow, wondering why. Why didn’t they fight harder for you. Wanting closure, just to know it wasn’t all a lie.

But, all you get is silence.

Sometimes we get closure, but most of the time we just have to accept what was and learn. Learn the lesson, move forward and wish them well.
