Drowning

Every step you take your feet move like molasses. Everything just seems out of reach. You see no end to what seems like a never ending loop. You fight yourself to sleep contemplating if it is even worth waking up to a new day. As the sun rises again you catch your breath, telling yourself “Let’s try this again.” You can’t fathom the thought of changing, much less take a step outside. But, as the day goes on, you check off everything on your to do list and the clock spins so quickly you find yourself at the edge of your bed all over again. You try to convince yourself today was better than yesterday but the same melancholy feeling stayed with you. You put on a fake smile because what is the point of telling everyone the same thing over and over again. This anger that you thought you no longer carried, it continues to linger. Contemplating the motives behind your thoughts, not knowing the state of existence. You are inclined to shift between emotions as your body goes into shock, not knowing what to do. The overwhelming feeling keeps you anchored, continuously drowning.

There are days you wake up hoping for some miracle that your brain just all of a sudden stopped working the way it has been. Just wanting to feel like you are finally out of this rut that never seems to go away. As much as you want to dig yourself out, it seems you are only digging deeper. And there are days that it feels like you can conquer the world without a doubt in you.

I don’t know where you are in your journey but I do know you aren’t where you first started. Once you take that step forward there is only one direction you can go in. The progress may seem miniscule compared to where you want to be but remind yourself of everything you have overcome.

Even if the days seem tedious just give yourself the time, the space and the compassion to know that it does get better.

YOU ARE LOVED, YOU ARE ENOUGH, YOU ARE WORTHY! ❤💋🌹
