Reset

My fingers wiggle as I graze every green leaf. The sun shining so bright as my skin caramelizes. The fruit ripe and ready to eat off the trees. I can hear the laughter of children running around carefree. My feet planted to the ground as I walk through the streets feeling the vibrations of the music they play. Animals of all kinds crossing my path. The air so clean I inhale a vast amount hoping to carry some home. The hands on the clock tick at the pace of the people, no one is in a rush. The nostalgia of the green little house filled with memories of someone with a beautiful childhood. They may not be my memories but you can feel the love that roams through every room. People smile as they greet you from morning till night. You can smell every spice as the women prepare dinner and the men come home from long days in the fields. As the night came, sweat running down my neck and the rain so blissfully dropping like white noise, no one could take this moment away. I sat outside over looking at what mother nature was creating, the scent of wet land and all I can think of was “Could life be this calm after living in a constant storm?”

Every heartbreaking, anxious thought I carry was left miles behind. I had no time to think or even contemplate about people and unresolved emotions.

For so long I didn’t want to slow down, I didn’t reminisce about the future or even cared how it ended. Life has a way of slowing you down and making you see the bigger picture. Reminding you that even though you go through so much ugliness in life there is still beauty out there. But, in order to see the beauty we have to breathe it in, let it soak into our skin and let it renew you.

Having so many rough drafts in my story I didn’t think this trip would be the beginning of a new chapter. A chapter I didn’t even know existed or would even want to write. So no matter how scary it is, let your guard down even if it’s for a second, let yourself begin a new chapter and let yourself press reset.

YOU ARE WORTHY, YOU ARE LOVED, YOU ARE ENOUGH! 💗💋🌹

“We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.” —Joseph Campbell
