6 Feet Tall
The door slams loud as I rush you into your room. Cranking Barney so loud so your little ears couldn’t hear the screams of mercy in the kitchen. The beatings taken by the woman in “love”. The angry deep voice that would follow demanding respect. Poundings against the wall that would shake your toys. I…

If Only
If only I could tell you my thoughts, but I know you would look at me differently. If only I could put your hand over my heart, but you wouldn’t even feel a beat. If only you could take a tour of my mind, you would see every sad memory that lingers. If only you…

Letter
Dear You, As the clouds start to cover the blue sky becoming such a solemn gray, all I can think of is YOU. We may not be physically next to each other but my heart longs for you and it doesn’t even know you left. My mind, like clockwork, looks for your early morning calls…

Reset
My fingers wiggle as I graze every green leaf. The sun shining so bright as my skin caramelizes. The fruit ripe and ready to eat off the trees. I can hear the laughter of children running around carefree. My feet planted to the ground as I walk through the streets feeling the vibrations of the…

Misunderstood
You wish you could explain the source of your sadness but all you can do is describe it. Your soul is dimmed, it feels as if you will never smile again. The Earth’s color fades, the sun has risen but you can’t see it shine. You are alive but yet so empty. The anger that…

Mirror
Wiping away every tear as you confess your sorrows. Your heart so broken you never knew you could cry so much. As I sit to listen to every word you mutter, I desire to take your pain away. So young, so innocent to what the world has waiting for you. Looking into your eyes wondering…

Edge
Spinning in circles like a merry go round. Buried under the piles of thoughts, trying to claw myself out. There are days I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder, no where to hide. I tiptoe over this dark cloud, that hovers over my eyes, to grasp a glance of light. I can…

Drowning
Every step you take your feet move like molasses. Everything just seems out of reach. You see no end to what seems like a never ending loop. You fight yourself to sleep contemplating if it is even worth waking up to a new day. As the sun rises again you catch your breath, telling yourself…

Drive
Drops of midst trickling down your window, the chilling wind across your face. With every breath inhaled you exhale a misty cloud. Your nose a soft red and chills running through out your body. Sitting there as your car warms up, your mind wanders. The tires finally hit the dark wet road. The stress of…

Catatonic
The night falls and you get a glimpse of the moon, wishing upon the stars to take the pain away. Your body so numb, oh so catatonic. You can’t seem to catch your breath the pain is so real. The person who promised not to hurt you, did the most damage. “Look into my eyes…
